Sales & Design Associate

Job Description:

The Sales and Design Associate works on acquiring, scheduling and executing the optimum amount of quality work to meet Company goals. Works closely with retail customers, as well as contractors and designers, and relays customers’ requested details and information to the Office Manager in order to produce an accurate estimate.

Tasks:

  • Meets with retail customers, as well as contractors and designers in the showroom. Routinely answers the phone, and replies to messages and emails.
  • Reads and interprets cabinet drawings and architectural plans.
  • Receives and tags parcels, such as incoming tile and accessories.
  • Translates customer’s scheduling needs to the Office Manager. Creates estimates in counter top and tile software based on client requirements and specifications.
  • Contacts homeowners, contractors and designers to relay specific jobsite details.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with customers and company staff who need to be involved from the start of templating to installation.
  • Sources stone slabs and tile for projects, and prepares purchase order information for Office Manager.
  • Follows up with customers after the sale to ensure customer satisfaction; follows up to correct any issues and requests an online review of their experience.
  • Educates customers with regard to natural stone, company policies and practices, and their rights and responsibilities as customers.
  • Helps to maintain the appearance of the slab and tile showroom.

Work Environment:

This position will be working primarily indoors in an office environment, but also requires the employee to be in the shop or warehouse on a regular basis. The normal auto and air travel hazards will apply when traveling for trade shows and outside sales calls.  Travel will be in all types of weather including heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with snow conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, except loud when in the shop occasionally.

Work Experience:

  • At least three years of experience in sales and/or customer service in a related field.
  • Ability to design and sell tile.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with customers, employees, trades people, and suppliers.
  • Ability to read, troubleshoot, and interpret blueprints.
  • Problem solving abilities, including responding to customer complaints.
  • Ability to perform basic math, English, and spelling with accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and use Moraware with proper Company training.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational/prioritization skills.
  • Basic skills in using Microsoft Office.

Education Requirements:

HS Diploma or equivalent with experience in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of stone industry preferred.

CNC Programmer

Job Description:

The CNC Operator uses CAD programs coupled with machines to precisely fabricate production pieces, based on specific drawings or templates.

Tasks:

  • Create programs and laser projections.
  • Set up vacuum pods to properly secure pieces to work table.
  • Maintain machines and equipment associated with.
  • Check dimensions of individual pieces before extracting from table.
  • Maintain tooling required for CNCs.
  • Assist with flow of production.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient workspace.

Work Experience:  

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication work required.
  • Prior experience working with hand tools and/or basic machinery required.
  • CAD/CAM Experience a must.
  • Basic math skills and ability to measure.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and shop manager.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills.

Education:

HS Degree or GED may be required.

Licensure/Certification:
Clean Driving Record preferred, reliable transportation a must.

Shop Fabricator

Job Level: Entry-level (Non-supervisory)

Job Description:

Finish natural stone counter top edges and support production schedule as needed.

Tasks:

  • Read work orders to determine what edges are to be finished.
  • Navigate computer to obtain measurements of pieces.
  • Polish edges and fabricate parts from natural stone and quartz.
  • Work independently or within a team of coworkers.
  • Safely able to lift work pieces in excess of 75lbs.
  • Work with different types of epoxies.
  • Use pneumatic grinder with various abrasives to complete task at hand.

Education HS Degree minimum with preferred computer experience in CAD.

Work Experience

  • Varied power tool operation.
  • Ability to read measurements in standard and metric.
  • Ability to stand on feet for at least 8 hours a day.
  • AutoCAD exposure is a plus, but can be taught on the job.

Licensure/Certification Clean Driving Record preferred, reliable transportation a must

Apprentice Tile & Marble Setter

Job Level: Mid-level (Non-supervisory)

Job Description:

Assist with setting hard tile, marble, and wood tile on walls, floors, ceilings, and roof decks.

Tasks:

  • Assist in measuring and marking surfaces to be tiled, following blueprints.
  • Assist in implementing the best layout to achieve a desired pattern.
  • Level concrete and allow it to dry.
  • Mix, apply, and spread plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles, using brush, trowel and screed.
  • Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Align and straighten tile using levels, squares and straightedges.
  • Assist in applying mortar to tile back, positioning the tile and pressing or tapping with trowel handle to affix tile to base.
  • Finish and dress the joints and wipe excess grout from between tiles, using damp sponge.

Education: HS Degree or GED may be required.

Workforce Preparation: Employees need anywhere from six months to two years of training, working as an apprentice with experienced employees on the job.

Work Experience: Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience may be helpful, but is not usually needed.

Licensure/Certification: None required

Tile Setter

Job Level: Mid-level (Non-supervisory)

Job Description:

Apply hard tile, marble, and wood tile to walls, floors, ceilings, and roof decks.

Tasks:

  • Level concrete and allow to dry.

Job Description:

Accurately measure and install slab parts that will compose countertops, fireplaces, and other bathroom parts in new home construction or renovation.

Tasks:

  • Measure and complete accurate template drawing that is ready for in house fabrication.
  • Meet with clients and work out details on sizes, shapes and layouts of pieces.
  • Work independently or within a team of coworkers.
  • Safely lift work pieces in excess of 75 lbs. into position.
  • Work with different types of 2-part epoxies to glue joints together and repair parts.
  • Use different kinds of power tools to prepare for material installation or installation itself.

Education HS Degree minimum with preferred computer experience in CAD.

Work Experience 

  • 3-5 years trade related experience in trade or Finish Carpentry
  • Varied power tool operation
  • Ability to read measurements in standard and metric.
  • AutoCAD exposure is a plus, but can be taught on the job.
